Seasoned Business and Technical Management
Christopher J. Fearnley President, CEO & Chief Technology Officer
CJ Fearnley has been a pioneer in the development and promotion of
Linux systems and Open Source software. In 1993, he recognized the
superior value of the Linux operating system, given its stability, power,
flexibility, scalability and cost-free availability. Based on his belief
in Linux, he started a business that became LinuxForce, Inc. in 1995
to help organizations develop and maintain mission-critical Linux-based
systems. He designed LinuxForce's Remote
ResponderSM product
line which is the preeminent Debian-based outsourcing solution for Linux
systems management and monitoring in the Philadelphia Area.
CJ started introducing Linux to the greater Philadelphia
region in 1993 with his leadership position in
the Philadelphia
Area Computer Society (PACS). He founded the
Philadelphia Linux User's
Group (PLUG) in 1995 and remains active in the organization.
He founded the Philadelphia
Area Debian Society (PADS) in 1999. He founded
Synergeticists of the NorthEast
Corridor (SNEC) in 2002.
He received his BA in Mathematical Sciences and Philosophy from
Binghamton University in 1989, where he was a Regents Scholar.
He has done graduate work at Drexel University. He maintains the R. Buckminster Fuller
FAQ and a personal web site.
Charles B. Fleming Chairman of the Board, Executive
Vice President, Customer Relations
Charles "Buck" Fleming has had a successful business
career spanning more than 30 years. He has been described as
the quintessential entrepreneur.
After a stint with Boeing as a Senior Cost Engineer, where he managed
a number of major projects, Fleming moved onto the real estate
development business, first building residential communities for low
income families and later renovating existing, distressed housing
stock on the fringe of center city Philadelphia for middle income,
urban pioneers. After taking some time off to sail competitively,
Fleming returned to real estate development to build beach and marina
communities along the New Jersey shore and in England.
His entry into the technology world came in 1994, when "an investment
group consisting of long time business associates recruited me to
help them create an ISP." Fleming shortly became president of the
company. It was in this role that he first became aware of Linux.
Convinced that the ISP business would be dominated by mega-players
like AOL, and intrigued by the promise of Linux, Fleming
co-incorporated LinuxForce with Chris Fearnley in 1999.
Along the way, Fleming did his undergraduate studies at
Lafayette College and graduate work at Temple University.
and then served a tour in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has been
a guest lecturer at Temple and Drexel Universities and has
received numerous public acknowledgements and awards for project excellence
in both the United States and Europe.
